Abstract:

Generating electricity from Solar PV has increased exponentially during the past 10 years, and it is expected to triple by 2030. The Distribution System Operators must adapt quickly to the increase of Solar PV by upgrading their infrastructure, updating the regulation, and integrating new technologies like smart grid and storage. This paper will provide actual insight into the development of the prosumer sector, and the economic, environmental and social advantages that are associated with it. It will also contribute to sustainability, low carbon future and climate resilience, and provide new revenue streams for the DSOs.
