Abstract:

The Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) Certified Building Commissioning Program, and the Certified Measurement & Verification Professional training are great sources to successfully commissioning and monitor performance in Net Zero Buildings, Renewable Energy Projects, New and Existing Buildings, Combined Heat and Power Plants, Boiler and Chiller Plants and Energy Savings Performance Contracts (ESPC), and Utility Energy Savings Contracts (UESC) with Building Automation Systems. American Society of Heating Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers TC 6.2, TC 7.3 and TC 9.1. TC 6.2 is concerned with district energy technology and integrated systems that provide one or more forms of thermal energy or a combination of thermal energy and electric power from a central plant(s) to meet the heating, cooling, or combined thermal energy and power needs of end-users in two or more structures. This isolation Association of Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), TC 7.3 is concerned with providing general guidance in the area of operation, maintenance and commissioning of air conditioning, heating, ventilating and refrigeration systems and equipment. TC 9.1 is concerned with the general design concepts of the HVAC systems that are utilized for the conditioning of large buildings, including the integration of components into centralized and decentralized systems. Effective operation and maintenance is essential for cost-effective provision of the built environment that humankind enjoys today. The ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 228-2023 coupled with Building commissioning contributes to successful sustainable HVAC design by incorporating the system training requirements necessary for building management staff to efficiently take over ownership, operation, and maintenance of the HVAC systems over the installation’s useful service life. Building system commissioning is often contracted directly by an owner and is required by many standards to achieve peak building system performance.
