Over 30 years experience in energy management, energy efficiency and conservation, alternative energy, project financing and implementation. Chairman of the International Renewable Energy Professional Board and the Certified Sustainable Development Professional Board. Past President of the Association of Engineers. I am the AEE Director of Sustainable State and Local Programs and serve on the Certified Energy Manager Board of Directors. My energy and sustainability projects have reduced customer utility costs by over $100 million. I have delivered over 500 presentations throughout the U.S. and in 12 other countries on topics related to sustainable development, energy, renewables, carbon reduction and urban planning.

Author of the "Sustainable Development Handbook"​ and the best selling book "Carbon Reduction - Policies, Strategies and Technologies"​. Contributing author to “Performance Contracting – Expanding Horizons” by Shirley Hanson, the “Green Facilities Handbook” by Eric Woodroof, the “Guide to Energy Management” by Capehart, Turner and Kennedy, the “Encyclopedia of Energy Management” by Capehart and “The Invisible City” by John Gilderbloom. I serve on the Steering Committee for the World Energy Engineering Congress and the Editorial Board for "Energy Engineering".
