Track F: Building Performance

Session F2: Building Performance Standards

September 18, 2025 | 9:30 am - 10:00 am

Mastering BPS Compliance with Portfolio-Level Insights

When managing multiple buildings under different Building Performance Standards (BPS), what’s the most efficient way to complete portfolio-level analysis efficiently and accurately? ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager® (ESPM) is the system of record promulgated by the Institute for Market Transformation for the 52 Building Performance Standards programs in the US and Canada. ESPM provides measurement of GHG emissions, EUIs and scores that help determine how your properties are evaluated by BPS reporting authorities.
In this session, we will walk through how to leverage Portfolio Manager data at the property level to assess an entire portfolio’s BPS performance. See how to analyze key performance metrics, pinpoint compliance gaps and develop an effective strategy for portfolio-wide BPS management. One will gain tools on how to use Portfolio Manager to streamline compliance and proactively address performance shortfalls, ensuring buildings are aligned with evolving regulations, are essential to navigate today’s regulatory landscape and avoid costly penalties.
As Building Performance Standards continue to expand across North America, this will help you prepare for increasing compliance demands and the future of building performance regulations.
