AI-Enabled Building Contextualization for Contractors
The integration of AI-driven analytics into contractor workflows has the potential to enhance lead generation and decision-making for building electrification. This presentation explores the development of AI-enabled reports that contextualize building parcel data to optimize contractor outreach. By leveraging geospatial intelligence, machine learning, and structured datasets, these reports provide targeted insights into property characteristics, energy use patterns, and potential upgrade opportunities.
This approach shifts contractor engagement from broad-market outreach to data-informed prioritization, improving efficiency in identifying high-potential properties. The reports integrate publicly available data with proprietary models to assess electrification readiness, incorporating factors such as HVAC system characteristics, historical energy usage, and available incentives. By synthesizing this information, contractors can make informed recommendations, reducing uncertainty and enhancing customer engagement.
This session will present findings from pilot implementations, discussing the methodological framework, data sources, and impact on contractor workflows. The goal is to demonstrate how AI-enabled insights can contribute to more precise targeting, streamlined decision-making, and increased adoption of energy-efficient technologies.
Speaker Bio
Dr. Jason S. Trager is a serial entrepreneur, AI and ML expert, and thought leader in the intersection of AI and automation applications to electrification planning, energy services, and sustainability. Prior to co-founding Plentiful, Dr. Trager led machine learning and geospatial data science teams for several years on large teams, where his guidance was instrumental in advancing data-heavy, technical product development at scale. He previously led Sustainabilist, a firm focused on ML and data science in solar and energy efficiency, which he successfully led to acquisition.
He earned a Ph.D. from UC Berkeley, where he studied the application of statistical process control (SPC) and other mass production methodologies for energy efficiency in buildings. Jason always has a book recommendation and funny startup ideas - Just ask! He views it as his responsibility to help people find work in sustainable energy fields. His love for sustainability is not just confined to the professional sphere; he is an avid collector of renewable energy art.
