Abstract:
| Critical inventory—ranging from vaccines and medications in federal hospitals to food in government-run facilities and laboratory samples in federal research institutions—is all stored in cold storage units. Yet, these essential assets are often overlooked in building audits and not recognized as retrofit opportunities, leaving federal facilities with aging inefficient equipment, financial risk due to inventory losses, and, more critically, the potential failure to meet mission-critical needs. This session explores the importance of retrofitting cold storage in federal buildings through refrigeration monitoring and controls technology. By providing seamless oversight of refrigeration systems, these solutions enhance energy efficiency, reduce spoilage incidents, and ensure reliable operations to support federal agencies’ essential services.
Attendees will gain insight into refrigeration monitoring and controls, key audit considerations for federal buildings, and the importance of a responsive, controllable solution to safeguard critical inventory and improve energy efficiency. |
