Bio:

Matthew Nemerson is VP Strategic Partnerships at Budderfly, one of the fastest growing energy-as-a-service companies in the U.S. In his five years at the company, he has helped oversee industry and government green policy relations and strategy, introduced state of the art solutions to Budderfly’s clients, and created partnerships with other energy companies.  

Before joining Budderfly, Nemerson served as New Haven’s Deputy Mayor and Economic Development Administrator from 2014 to 2018, where he created policies to grow the city’s housing, entertainment, food, and commercial development. From 2004 to 2013, he was the President & CEO of the Connecticut Technology Council (CTC), a state-wide trade association and public policy group speaking for over 2,000 tech-oriented firms. He oversaw the creation of a statewide technology “innovation ecosystem” effort known as CTNext which is credited with helping the state become a leading national location of tech start-ups and bioresearch firms. 

Nemerson has also been EVP & COO of Netkey, Inc., a start-up software and internet firm that raised over $20m in investor equity and was acquired by NCR; the founding vice president of the Science Park Development Corporation, a still operating 40-acre inner city tech park affiliated with Yale University; 13-year president of the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce; a reporter for Fortune Magazine and publisher of the national policy magazine The Washington Monthly.
