Hossam Kassab
P.E., LEED AP BD+C, CEM, CEA, CDSM, CMVP, CBCP

Mr. Kassab serves as the Pentagon’s Energy Program Manager where he is the lead to develop WHS’ Energy Resiliency Master Plan. In his current role at WHS, Mr. Kassab manages, advises and assists in the implementation of energy management programs to meet statutory requirements (Executive Order (EO), Energy Policy Act (EPAct), etc.). He oversees the application of multi-year energy resiliency, renewable energy, and energy security strategic plan and monitors progress toward accomplishing objectives. He coordinates with WHS internal stakeholders, other DOD components, the Department of Energy, and other federal agencies for strategic planning, funding of projects and deploying new energy efficiency and enhancement technologies and equipment to modernize FSD’s facilities.

Prior to joining WHS,  Mr. Kassab was the Regional Energy Program Director at Navy Region Southwest. He served as the Region’s key staff level representative to the DoN/CEC partnership to foster effective relationships with state energy leaders alongside managing complex and demanding programs. Some of his other accomplishments include serving as the Resource Efficiency Manager (REM) where he led the energy management program for the U.S. Army’s National Training Center, Fort Irwin, in Southern California. His initiatives collectively yielded a remarkable 30:1 savings-to-investment ratio.

Mr. Kassab has achieved energy efficiency success throughout all of his endeavors. Over a span of 35 years, he has effectively, economically and innovatively saved hundreds of millions of dollars annually for his clients and constituents. He has emphatically driven this success from vision to completion to actual operation of a wide variety of energy retrofit projects for employers/clients which places him in a league of his own.

Mr. Kassab is a registered Professional Mechanical Engineer (PE) in the State of California. He is also a Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Energy Auditor (CEA), Certified Building Commissioning Professional (CBCP), Certified Demand Saving Manager (CDSM) and is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional Building Design & Construction (LEED AP BD+C). Mr. Kassab has been selected for the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) ‘Energy Managers Hall of Fame’ award that recognizes a lifetime of achievement in the energy management field.
