Implementing Large-Scale Corporate Wide Energy Efficiency Program- Challenges & Lessons Learned
In 2017, Universal Health Services(UHS) rolled out a four-year, comprehensive corporate wide Energy Savings Initiative Program via lighting retrofits and Retro-and Monitoring-based commissioning for HVAC system. UHS dedicated $36M towards this initiative that included design, identification, implementation, measurement and verification (M&V) of energy efficiency measures across 26 acute care and 200+ behavioral health facilities. join us as we discuss M&V process, implementation challenges and lessons learned for a program of this scale, and savings persistence.

Vaibhav (Vab) Gagrani is a seasoned Energy and Sustainability executive with 15+ years success developing and implementing enterprise Energy and Sustainability strategies to reduce cost and environmental impact of business operations and enhancing profits. He currently heads and manages UHS' Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) efforts including supply and demand side Energy Management, Waste reduction and water usage optimization. He holds Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) and Master of Science (M.S.) in Mechanical Engineering and Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Strategic Management & Finance. He is also a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.), Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP).
