AbbVie Corporate Energy Management
AbbVie does more than treat diseases. We take on the toughest health challenges and aim to make a remarkable impact on people's lives by focusing on discovering and delivering transformational medicines and products across a variety of therapeutic areas. Each day, we also work to deliver sustainable solutions that improve the health of our business and the health of humankind. In 2016, AbbVie set ambitious, long-term sustainability targets for absolute reductions to carbon emissions, water and waste while increasing renewable electricity. As a result, AbbVie has made strong progress towards achieving these targets through Energy Management programs at manufacturing plants and through the AbbVie Corporate Energy Management program. These achievements have been recognized with various national awards, such as the 2016 AEE Award for "Energy Project of the Year: International" and the 2015 Western Europe AEE Award for "Corporate Energy Management." In 2021, AbbVie deepened its sustainability commitment through the Science-Based Targets Initiative. This presentation will provide best practices from AbbVie's Corporate Energy Management programs and illustrate how the program supports the delivery of long-term sustainability targets.
