EV Charging: the Next Hot ECM

This presentation is a general overview of EV's and EV charging fundamentals. The dynamics that are helping propel EV acceptance are explained to get an understanding of why the timing is very good for EV projects. The various levels of charging are explained in detail, along with the appropriate applications for each level. Comparisons between ICE vehicles and EV, both from a fuel and maintenance perspective, are illustrated. The presentation is a good "nuts and bolts' view that will help those just getting into EV's or are curious.

Lonnie Russell started as a Nuclear Electrician in the Submarine Navy and has held technical, maintenance management or energy management positions at both large and small manufacturing companies, including Alcoa, AKsteel, and Textron. He has performed a multitude of commercial and industrial energy audits and has managed many energy projects bringing millions of dollars in energy savings to a wide variety of businesses. He is a frequent speaker and trainer and is published. He is currently a Senior Sales Manager of EV charging equipment at Autel.

Lonnie Russell is a CEM (Certified Energy Manager), a Renewable Energy Professional and a Certified Lighting Energy Professional. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from Excelsior College.
Lonnie is married and has 4 children, aged 29, 26, 23 and 19 (the only girl) and lives at Fripp Island, South Carolina.
