50001 Readyâ„¢ is a Simplified Approach to Saving Energy by Making It Part of Your Corporate Culture
The ISO 50001 standard specifies the requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and improving an energy management system or EnMS. It helps organizations internalize the policies by involving employees across the entire organization by making energy savings part of your corporate culture, you can maximize your energy efficiency goals, because people, processes and technology will be unified toward achieving this objective. But ISO 50001 is hard to implement. The standard specifies what to do but not how to do it.
The US Department of Energy’s 50001 Ready™ program addresses this challenge by offering detailed training and assistance with process development and documentation. The 50001 Ready program is an approach for facilities to establish an energy management system and self-attest to the structure of ISO 50001, a voluntary global standard for energy management systems in industrial, commercial and institutional facilities.
