How To: Execute a Refinery Energy Study
This presentation details the step-by-step process of performing an energy study in a refinery. It follows the Energy Star Seven Step Process that has successfully been implement in hundreds of companies throughout the world.
Speaker Bio
John Curry is a Process Engineering Consultant and corporate subject matter expert on Fired Equipment at the CITGO Corpus Christi Refinery. John currently sits on the Texas Industrial Energy Efficiency Program advisory council and represents CITGO on American Petroleum Institute (API) committees where he currently chairs the API 535 document, “Burners for Fired Heaters in General Refinery Service” and is task group chair for the API 560 document, “Fired Heaters for General Refinery Service.”
He plays a key role in making CCR a consistent 1st/2nd quartile Solomon energy performer, receiving the Department of Energy’s “ENERGY STAR Certification” in three of the past five years.
Most recently, John is spearheading the effort of facilitating the energy organization team responsible for administering the company-wide ENERGY STAR Partnership initiative.
John has a bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Texas Tech University.
